Hurricane Harvey hits Texas

Hurricane Harvey in central Texas has killed at least one person and wounded a dozen, becoming the strongest hurricane to hit the US in 13 years.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Harvey made landfall in Rockport town, 48km north of Corpus Christi late on Friday as a category 4 hurricane with maximum winds of 215km/h. North Rockport was directly in Harvey's path and was severely hit. Harvey was downgraded to a tropical storm on Saturday.
