IAEA chief to visit Russia

Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergei Ryabkov, said Monday that IAEA chief Rafael Grossi will visit Moscow for a meeting this week. The meeting will focus on the creation of a safety zone around Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, he said, adding that Moscow is counting on a deep and professional discussion.

The Kremlin said Monday that Grossi will not meet with President Putin during his visit. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Grossi will meet only with officials from state nuclear energy firm Rosatom and the foreign ministry.
