Iran sets conditions for resuming talks with US

Iran will resume talks with the US if Washington removes sanctions against Tehran, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on national television Wednesday.

He said as soon as the US lifts its unfair sanctions, abides by its commitments, and returns to the negotiation table it left unilaterally, the door will be opened.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Tehran is ready for the possibility of war with the US, but hopes tensions can be eased through negotiations.

US President Donald Trump said a day earlier that the US is ready for talks if Iran is too, adding that Washington is not trying to change Iran's regime.
