Iran warns US attack would cause regional consequences

Iran warned the US on Saturday that any aggression against the Islamic republic would have serious consequences for US interests across the Middle East.

Iran's armed forces general staff spokesman Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi said firing one bullet towards Iran will set fire to the interests of America and its allies.

The same day, President Trump said the US will impose major additional sanctions on Iran in a bid to prevent the country obtaining nuclear weapons, adding a military strike against Iran still have a chance to happen.

United States Cyber Command earlier launched a cyber-attack on Iranian weapons systems in retaliation for the shooting down of a US drone as well as attacks on oil tankers that the US has blamed Iran for. The cyber-attack disabled computer systems controlling rocket and missile launchers, the Washington Post said.
