Iraqi Prime Minister cancels Iran visit

Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi has cancelled his visit to Iran, citing US sanctions against Tehran as a reason.

Abadi's media office said on Sunday that the PM will still go ahead with a visit to Turkey on Tuesday but that the Iran leg of the trip has been called off because of his busy schedule. Earlier, an Iraqi official said that Abadi would visit Turkey and Iran to discuss economic issues

US President Donald Trump tweeted on Tuesday that the US has renewed sanctions against Iran and that anyone doing business with Iran will not be doing business with the US.
