Israel announces 2,500 more settlement homes

The Israeli Ministry of Defense on Tuesday reported that Israel has approved a massive new building programme of 2,500 settlement homes in the West Bank. This is the second announcement of construction in occupied regions since the swearing-in of US president Donald Trump. The plan has been ratified by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman.

The decision disables any attempt to restore security and stability and promotes extremism and terrorism, according to a statement from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeina. Rudeina called on the international community to oppose Israel's decision.
