Israeli Ambassador says farewell to State President

State President Tran Dai Quang hosted a reception for outgoing Israeli Ambassador to Viet Nam Meirav Eilon Shahar whose working term is about to over.

The State President expressed his pleasure to witness the important developments in the bilateral ties during the term. This was manifested by the successful visit of Israeli President Reuven Rivlin to Viet Nam.

In addition, Israel recognized Viet Nam as a market economy; received Vietnamese trainees; and provided more scholarships for Vietnamese students.

The two countries started FTA negotiation; signed a Memorandum of Understanding on research and promotion of high-tech farming, security-national defense industry.

Israel became Viet Nam's leading partner in the Middle East.

State President Quang stressed that Viet Nam always attaches importance to promoting the comprehensive ties with Israel. There remains wide doors for the two sides, especially in high-tech, security-national defense, agriculture, training, and trade.

Mr. Quang proposed the two sides realized the signed agreements in favor of respective development and peoples' interests.

On her part, Ambassador Meirav Eilon Shahar showed her satisfaction at the developments in the bilateral ties and treasured the host leader's support during her mission in Viet Nam.

Ms. Meirav Eilon Shahar informed that the official visit of Israeli President Reuven Rivlin was successful, thus contributing to elevating the bilateral ties to a new height.

The Ambassador pledged to spare no effort to serve as a bridge to promote the bilateral ties./.
