Italy urges EU to take action against rising energy prices

Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi called on the European Union (EU) to act to tackle the problem of rising energy prices, saying that structural solutions are needed. Draghi addressed the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Tuesday, saying that energy costs will be the focus of the upcoming meeting of the EU. He said the EU should adjust the current plan to address recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ukraine crisis, and increasing energy costs.

These statements came with the EU facing the problem of reducing its dependence on energy from Russia.
