Hanoi: Adjusted healthcare fees, alongside rising transportation costs and food prices driven by increased demand during the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, have resulted in a 0.98% increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in January compared to the previous month.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the index showed a year-on-year expansion of 3.63%, while core inflation increased by 3.07%. The report highlights that nine out of 11 categories of goods and services experienced price hikes, with healthcare fees surging by 9.47%, transportation costs increasing by 0.95%, and food and catering services seeing a rise of 0.74%.
