The Lighting up dreams program this year is scheduled to give 1,000 scholarships and 3,000 gifts to unfortunate children living in natural-disaster-hit central provinces, who may not be able to attend their schools as a result.
The Vietnam Association for the Protection of Children said on Wednesday, that scholarships totalling 43,000USD will be given to children who have overcome hardship to pursue studies in Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Binh Dinh, Quang Nam, Binh Phuoc, and Phu Yen province.
The program will also raise the requisite funds to build 10 charity houses for disadvantaged families.
The Lighting up dreams exchange program will be held in Da Nang city September involving 300 poor and disabled children.
