London Symphony Orchestra performs in Hanoi

The London Symphony Orchestra and German conductor Niklas Benjamin Hoffmann are ready for their concert at Ly Thai To statue, in Hanoi, on Saturday night.

The 105-miunute program will open with the Vietnamese national anthem, The Marching Song, by Van Cao. The LSO managing director Kathryn McDowell said at a press conference yesterday" The LSO aims to bring the greatest music to the wide audiences. Here in Vietnam we are able to expand that idea to audiences in Vietnam. Each year we have a large open air performance in Trafalgar Square in London. This is the similar event we hope bringing all music to thousands of Hanoi people."

The concert is part of the Vietnam Airlines Classic-Hanoi Concert 2017 to introduce famous symphony orchestras to Hanoians. The London Symphony Orchestra (LSO), founded in 1904, is the oldest of London's symphony orchestras. It has made gramophone recordings since 1912 and has played on more than 200 soundtrack recordings for the cinema, of which the best known include the Star Wars series and Superman.
