Macron’s popularity still weak after Notre-Dame fire

The popularity of French President Emmanuel Macron remains stuck below 30 percent as he battles political troubles, with no major change reported after the Notre-Dame fire, a poll said Sunday.

According to the Ifop poll, just 29 percent of people polled said they are satisfied with the job Macron is doing, with 69 percent dissatisfied. Macron enjoyed sky-high approval ratings of over 60 percent after coming to power in 2017 on the back of hopes that he would implement major reforms in France.
