More remains of missing US solders in Vietnam repatriated

Vietnam on Friday handed over to the US a set of remains of US service member missing in action (MIA) in the Vietnam War as a result of the 148th search operation (August-September 2022). The  repatriation ceremony was held at the US MIA Office in Hanoi.

The remains, examined by Vietnamese and American forensic specialists in Hanoi, were found to potentially link to missing US servicemen in Vietnam. They will be sent to Hawaii for further examination.

The search for missing US soldiers’ remains from the war in Vietnam has been an ongoing humanitarian activity jointly conducted by the Vietnamese and US Governments.

This was the 159th handover since 1973.
