Moscow ready to mediate Persian Gulf crisis

Russia is ready to help mediate, if approached, a mounting Qatar political crisis, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with the Kurdish television channel Rudaw on Monday.

Mr. Lavrov said that Russia is contacting all parties involved and hopes they will take into account shared concerns and find a solution which will be acceptable to all. Russia welcomes the efforts of all countries, including the US, France, and Britain, to normalize relations in the Persian Gulf.

Saudi Arabia and its allies unveiled on Tuesday a list of terrorist groups and individuals with ties to Yemen, Qatar, and Libya and suspected ties to Islamist extremism.
