NA Chairman suggests vaccine certificate recognition between Vietnam and Singapore

(VOVWORLD) -National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue held an online talk with Singapore’s Parliament Speaker Tan Chuan-Jin on Wednesday. 

The two leaders wished to further promote the strategic partnership between the two countries, including two legislative bodies, continue exchanges of contacts and meetings, promote close coordination mechanism at multilateral forums, and support each other’s positions on regional and global issues of mutual concern.

National Assembly Chairman Hue suggested that the two National Assemblies study the possibility of signing a cooperation agreement, thereby, serving as a legal basis for implementing cooperation activities between agencies of the two legislatures. He called for strengthened cooperation and sharing of experiences, especially in institutional building, perfecting the legal system for the development of the digital economy and digital society, an area Singapore has a lot of experience and potential in.

Also at the talk, Chairman Hue suggested the possibility of mutual recognition of vaccine certificates to soon reach an agreement on priority travel regulations and resumption of commercial routes when conditions allow to promote economic cooperation and tourism between the two countries. Vietnam wishes to study Singapore’s experience and new strategies in COVID-19 prevention and control for economic recovery and development, Mr. Hue said.
