National role models honored

Nearly 400 role models of Vietnam were honored at a ceremony in Hanoi on Saturday to mark the 69th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's appeal for patriotic movement on June 11.

Among attendants were Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Tran Dai Quang, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan. Party leader Trong praised the achievements of the patriotic movement, which he said has nurtured exemplary people whose initiatives and contributions benefit the State and society: It's more difficult to maintain the honor, respect and love of the others. This is only the initial result, numerous challenges are lying ahead. So I call on every collective and individual to work harder and contribute more to set bright examples for others to follow suit.

The Party leader called for patriotic emulation movements to be held to promote patriotism and national pride and contribute to national industrialization and modernization.
