NATO begins multinational drill in Black Sea

More than 1,500 troops from 7 NATO countries are participating in the Poseidon 2017 multinational military drill held in Romania and international waters of the Black Sea. 17 military ships, a Puma navy helicopter, and two speedboats for divers will join the 8-day drill.

The 2017 Poseidon drill is meant to enhance cooperation between NATO members' troops in mine sweeping and test the ability of Romanian forces expected to join the NATO Response Forces in 2018.

The drill will run until next Monday.
