NATO is ready for more talks with Russia

There are significant differences between the NATO allies and Russia on the issue of Ukraine, which will not be easy to bridge, but NATO is ready to meet again with Russia to have discussions in greater detail, said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg following the meeting of the NATO-Russia Council in Brussels on Wednesday. He told reporters that their differences concern the situation in and around Ukraine and the implications for European security. It’s a positive sign, he said, that all NATO allies sat down at the same table with Russia and engaged on substantive topics. He said NATO wants to discuss concrete ways to increase the transparency of military exercises, tighten arms control, and reduce space and cyber threats.

Russia hasn’t responded to NATO yet. It said it needs more time to think about its answer.
