North Korea fires ballistic missiles for the fourth time in a week

North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles toward the sea off the east coast on Saturday, marking Pyongyang’s fourth launch in a week.

According to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff, North Korea fired an unidentified ballistic missile toward the east coast.

The Japanese side also confirmed this information and said that the second missile seemed to have failed after the launch.

The launch comes after the navies of South Korea, the United States and Japan staged trilateral anti-submarine exercises on Friday for the first time in five years.
