North Korea invites journalists to nuclear test site closure

North Korea will invite journalists from South Korea, China, Russia, the US, and the UK to a ceremony marking the shutdown of its Pyunggye-ri nuclear test ground, Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Saturday.

North Korea's foreign ministry said in a statement that due to limited space, only those journalists are invited to the ceremony scheduled to take place between May 23-25 depending on weather condition. The ministry said North Korea will provide special flights for correspondents from Beijing to Wonsan city, and then they will take a special train to Pyunggye-ri.

The statement said North Korea will set up a press center and arrange special accommodation for the reporters. It added that Pyongyang will promote contact and close dialogue with the international community to ensure peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula and in the world.
