North Korea reacts to new UN sanctions

North Korea has condemned new sanctions by the United Nations Security Council and threatened retaliation.

In a statement carried by the state-run Korean Central News Agency, North Korea said it will take ultimate measures if the US does not abandon any move that restrain Pyongyang.

On Saturday, the UN Security Council unanimously approved new sanctions in response to North Korea's recent intercontinental ballistic missile tests. The sanctions compiled by the US include a ban on North Korea from exporting coal, iron, lead, and seafood. The actions could slash the regime's annual export revenue by a third.
