Northwestern region urged to boost its growth

The northwestern region needs to promote agricultural restructuring associated with new rural development, said Nguyen Van Binh, Head of the Party Central Committee's Economic Commission.

At the year-end conference of the Steering Committee for the North-western Region on Monday, Binh asked the region to continue administrative reform, improve the investment environment, create favorable conditions for businesses, improve the quality of education and healthcare, particularly in remote areas, and implement the policy on ethnic minority and religious affairs. Delegates at the conference called for more preferential policies to boost the region's socio-economic development.
