OPEC+ agrees on planned January oil output increase

OPEC and its allies agreed on Thursday to stick to their existing policy of monthly oil output increases despite fears that a US release from crude reserves and the new Omicron coronavirus variant will lead to a fresh oil price drop. Under the agreement, the 23 members of OPEC+ will increase the total output of crude oil by 400,000 bpd in January of next year.
