OPEC stands by 2022 forecast for global oil-demand growth

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) on Thursday left its forecast for global oil-demand growth in 2022 unchanged from its October estimate at 4.2 million barrels a day. That would put global oil demand at some 100 million barrels a day next year, OPEC said in its monthly report.

European members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) will have higher consumption, while US oil demand will slow down.

The drop in oil demand is due to a slower pace of consumption in China and India in the third quarter of this year.
