Hanoi: More than 201,650 makeshift and dilapidated homes across Vietnam have been rebuilt or are currently under construction, according to the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs. With the progress, approximately 34,700 such homes remain in need of replacement or repair.
According to Vietnam News Agency, the initiative is part of a broader effort to improve living conditions and infrastructure for communities throughout the country. The focus has been on replacing substandard housing that poses a risk to residents and contributes to poor health and safety conditions.
The Ministry has prioritized areas with the highest number of vulnerable homes, ensuring that resources are directed where they are most needed. This endeavor is a significant step towards addressing housing inadequacies in Vietnam, offering safer and more reliable living conditions for thousands of families.
The rebuilding project is ongoing, with efforts continuing to address the remaining homes that require urgent attention. The Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs is actively working with local authorities to expedite the process and bring about improvements in affected regions.
