Pan-African Parliament promotes regional cooperation

The Pan-African Parliament (PAP) conference has ended in Johannesburg with resolutions to promote regional legislative cooperation and resolve internal issues.

At the closing ceremony, PAP Vice President Bernadette Lahai said the conference tackled important issues like economic cooperation, trade and investment, food safety, peace, immigration, and climate change response, terrorism, and poverty. PAP agreed to jointly implement the Paris Agreement on climate change approved in 2015 and cooperate in eliminating hunger threats in Somalia, South Sudan, and Nigeria.
