Party chief meets Hanoi’s voters ahead 15th NA’s second session

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong along with National Assembly (NA)’s deputies of Hanoi’s first constituency Nguyen Quoc Duyet and Nguyen Truc Anh on October 9 had a meeting with voters of Ba Dinh and Hai Ba Trung districts ahead the NA’s second session. Joining the meeting were Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Head of the Hanoi National Assembly deputies’ delegation Dinh Tien Dung; Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the municipal People’s Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan; Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front’s municipal committee Nguyen Lan Huong; Director of the municipal Department of Public Security Nguyen Hai Trung; Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Ha Minh Hai; and Deputy Head of the delegation of National Assembly deputies of Hanoi Pham Thi Thanh Mai.

The event was held in both in-person and online forms, connecting 57 locations in two districts.

At the meeting, local voters highly spoke of contents and programs of the upcoming second session of the NA, while hailing the success of the election of deputies to the 15th NA.

They voiced their opinions about the fight against the pandemic, social welfare for residents, measures to remove difficulties faced by enterprises, and revising policies for socio-economic development.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Ha Minh Hai acknowledged voters’ opinions and discussed with them the city’s effort in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring social welfare.

According to Hai, strong measures have been put in place to contain the pandemic and protect public health. More than 7.7 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to date. Around 32% of the city’s adult population have been fully inoculated.

Hanoi has basically put the pandemic under control and is now entering the new normal, Hai stressed.

He stated that the municipal authorities have also taken various measures to remove difficulties for local enterprises.

Special attention has been paid to delivering the support to people affected by the pandemic.

On behalf of NA’s deputies, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong expressed his sincere thanks to voters for their enthusiastic opinions.

He attributed the initial success of the COVID-19 fight to engagement of the whole political system as well as the support of people from all strata.

The country’s important activities were still held despite the COVID-19 pandemic, he stated, adding that the entire people upheld the tradition of patriotism, solidarity and mutual support.

Trong urged the people to stay vigilant against COVID-19 and focus on boosting economic development and maintaining political security, social safety and order.

The leader informed that the upcoming nationwide conference on disseminating the Resolution adopted by the fourth plenum of the 13th Party Central Committee will focus on socio-economic development, building and rectification of the Party and the entire political system, and the fight against corruption and negative phenomena.

Trong also ratified his absolute trust on the leaders and people of Hanoi. With their heroic tradition, he believed that the capital city will become an example for other localities across the country to follow.
