Posted on June 30, 2022 By admin

- The Politburo held a national conference in Hanoi on Thursday to review the fight against corruption and negative phenomena over the past decade and identify orientations. Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, head of the Central Steering Committee for Corruption and Negative Phenomena Prevention and Control, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with key officials of central agencies and the 63 localities were among 81,000 delegates at the meeting.

In his address, the Party leader said the fight against corruption has been done in a professional, coordinated, resolute and effective manner creating several breakthroughs and demonstrating the Party, State, and people’s strong determination with the spirit of “having neither exception nor pressures of anyone”.

The Party leaders highlighted 6 major lessons learned from the fight against corruption over the past few years stressing the need to be promptly aware of the position, significance and importance of the fight against corruption to work out appropriate measures. It’s important to turn political will into practical action by Party officials and members setting an example in this effort.

The Party leader said: "We need to take resolute, concrete, and effective action. The leaders must be responsible for weaknesses and violations concerning corruption. Those who are responsible need to foster themselves and strengthen the inspection and effectively control the exercise of power. All power needs to be controlled and bound by responsibility. The more power one has, the higher responsibility that one has.”

The Party leader requested the Central and provincial Steering Committees and the Party Central Committee’s Internal Affairs agencies and localities to exert further effort and bring into play their achievements in the fight against corruption over the past 10 years to make it more effective going forward.
