– The Central Military Commission of the 2020-2025 tenure held its first meeting on Thursday, chaired by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and attended by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Vo Van Thuong, and Minister of National Defense Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang. Mr. Trong praised the Commission for what it did in the previous tenure. Its solidarity, creativity, and leadership have made the resolutions of the Army’s Party Congress and National Party Congress a reality.

Trong asked the Commission to uphold its role, firm stance, unity, and principles. Each member of the Commission should be rational, democratic, and flexible in order to build an army of strength, transparency, and absolute loyalty to the Fatherland, Party, State, and people.
