Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong wraps up China visit

 Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam arrived in Hanoi on Tuesday evening, concluding his official visit to China at the invitation of Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping. Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son told reporters that the visit was successful in all aspects and a special event for both countries. In the current context in each country and the world, Party leader Trong’s visit has deepened the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the new period, contributed to creating a firm political foundation, promoted practical cooperation, and strengthened friendship between the two countries.

The visit reaffirms Vietnam’s respect and top priority for building and developing a sound relationship with the Chinese Party, State, and people. It realizes Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization, diversification, and international integration. Vietnam is a friend, a reliable partner, and a responsible member of the international community.

The two countries released a 13-point joint statement covering strategic orientations for bilateral ties in all aspects in the coming time.

On the occasion, ministries, sectors and localities signed 13 cooperative agreements in various fields which will be the foundation for stronger bilateral ties.
