People’s health care is a top priority, PM says

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has said that the Party, State, and people appreciate, understand, and share the difficulties, hardships, and sacrifices of the health sector and medical staff and that Vietnam makes health care a top priority. Addressing an art program in Hanoi to honor the silent sacrifices of the medical staff on the occasion of Vietnam Physicians’ Day, February 27, and two years of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Chinh extended his best wishes to doctors and nurses.

“Every Vietnamese person wants to say words of gratitude, sharing, understanding, and solidarity with medical staff for their proud and noble mission of taking care of and protecting people’s health, and contributing to building a healthy nation and a powerful and prosperous country,” said PM Chinh.

According to Prime Minister Chinh, the pandemic has challenged and revealed the limitations of all health systems globally, including in developed countries.

As the pandemic, though basically under control, continues to infect Vietnamese people, Mr. Chinh asked the country not to let down its guard, to step up vaccination, to consider a 4th dose of vaccination, and to learn from the international experience of vaccinating children 5 to 12 years old.
