Pharmaceutical imports from India surge sharply

VGP – India was the largest pharmaceutical provider for Viet Nam in the first seven months by occupying 13.4% of the market share, according to the Viet Nam Customs.
In January-July period, India shipped US$ 155.1 million of pharmaceutical products to Viet Nam, representing a year-on-year increase of 319.8%.
Meanwhile, France and Germany ranked the second and third, respectively.
In the reviewed period, Viet Nam imported US$ 1.1 billion of medical products, up 7.75% against the same period last year.
In July, the value of pharmaceutical imports amounted to US$ 188.8 million, or month-on-month surge of 9.4%. The country spent US$ 29.7 million in importing raw materials for pharmaceutical production, down 8.3% against June.
In the first seven months, Viet Nam imported US$ 210.4 million of medical raw materials or 26.47% increase against the same period last year.
The imported raw materials mainly came from 11 markets of which China was the biggest provider, followed by India and Austria./.
