PM highlights 3 major issues for CLMV cooperation
Prime Minister Nguyen XuanPhuc attended the 9th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam Summit (CLMV9) on Saturday afternoon following his attendance at the 8th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy Summit (ACMECS8) in Bangkok.
Speaking in the conference, the Prime Minister highlighted three major issues to ensure efficiency in the grouping cooperation. These included focusing on advantageous and feasible areas of cooperation, especially tourism and agriculture. Resources mobilization initiatives and joint national projects within the Mekong cooperative mechanism as well as long-term cooperative strategy are also emphasized. He said Vietnam is wising to support the organization of trade fairs locally, e-government, capacity building and personnel training in CLMV 9. In conclusion, regional leaders approved a joint statement and endorsed Laotian hosting of the next summit.
