PM Mahathir Mohamad’s Vietnam visit makes headlines in Malaysia

Malaysia's major newspapers reported that Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad's visit to Vietnam will foster bilateral relations. The 3-day visit started on Monday.

The New Straits Times wrote that the visit is expected to boost bilateral relations and open up opportunities to increase bilateral trade to the 15 billion USD mark next year.

Bernama news agency interviewed Vietnamese Ambassador, Le Quy Quynh, who said the visit is of great importance in strengthening the bilateral strategic partnership.

The Malaysiakini and the Sun Daily wrote that Vietnam is an important trade partner of Malaysia.
