PM urges further cooperation between Vietnamese, Romanian localities

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his wish for stronger partnership between localities of Vietnam and Romania during his visit to Prahova, a county with dynamic economic development in Romania, on Sunday (local time).

At a working session with Prahova's governor Ioana Madalina Lupea, the Vietnamese PM highlighted the ties between several pairs of localities of the two countries, such as the memorandum of understanding signed between Hoa Binh and Prahova, Ben Tre and Tulchea, Da Nang and Timisoara, and Lao Cai and Hunedoara.

Phuc said there is great potential for cooperation between Prahova and Vietnamese provinces, particularly in fields where the Romanian locality is strong in, such as tourism, education-training, oil and gas, agriculture and forestry, which coincide with the priorities in Vietnam's cooperation with Romania.

Governor Ioana Madalina Lupea affirmed that Prahova wanted to expand its cooperation with Vietnamese localities.

The same day, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc had a meeting with representatives from the Vietnamese community in Romania and the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Bucharest. PM Phuc affirmed that overseas Vietnamese, including those in Romania, are an integral part and an important resource of Vietnam. He called on the community to continue support their homeland in national construction and defence.
