PM urges Thai Binh to focus more on exploiting sea space

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has highlighted the importance of the Thai Binh Economic Zone saying the Party Central Committee pays special attention to the development of the zone. During his inspection tour of the Thai Binh Economic Zone on Sunday, the Prime Minister suggested Thai Binh province expand its development toward the sea and exploit the sea space. He asked the local authorities and investors to work closely in land clearance to accelerate the construction of the Thai Binh Economic Zone and ensure that local people benefit from this investment. He stressed the need to upgrade the infrastructure in order to create links between the Thai Binh Economic Zone and other localities in the country.

The same day, the Prime Minister visited the 1,200 MW-Thai Binh Thermo Power Plant 2 in Thai Thuy district. Prime Minister Chinh said this is one of the key projects of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN). He asked PVN to mobilize more resources to finalize the project by 2022 as scheduled and ensure that it is a clean, safe, and environmental-friendly project. He expressed his belief that once the plant is put into operation, it will contribute to ensuring national energy security and promote socio-economic development of Vietnam and Thai Binh province in particular.

Also on Thursday, Prime Minister attended the inauguration of the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial House in Tien Hai district and the inauguration of the belt road in southern Thai Binh province which is connected with inner roads in Thai Binh city.
