PM: Vietnam wants to elevate ties with Australia

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc underlined the strength of the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Australia at a Tuesday reception in Hanoi for Frances Adamson, Special Envoy of the Australian Prime Minister. Ms. Adamson is also Secretary of Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

PM Phuc said the two countries are already important partners and Vietnam wants to strengthen those ties.

He praised Australia's official development assistance to Vietnam and urged Australian firms to pay more attention to Vietnam's hi-tech agriculture, animal husbandry, IT infrastructure, education, and new technology.

He said he hopes Australia will become one of the biggest investors in Vietnam.

Mr. Phuc called on the Australian government to help more Vietnamese citizens to come to Australia on a working holiday and to employ more Vietnamese workers.
