President Nguyen Xuan Phuc has urged the textile, garment, footwears and leather industries to promote innovation and productivity output.

He was speaking in a Vietnam Textile and Garment Group’s ceremony on Saturday to launch its emulation campaign this year. “Vietnam should have 30 textile and garment brands of world class. This is an important target for us to become a textile, garment and fashion center in the world,” said Mr. Phuc.

He added that although Vietnam is one of four countries with the largest textile and garment output, Vietnam needs to do more when it comes to added value and fashion, especially when Vietnam is a well-known tourist destination.
