President wants Nguyen Van Nha to be recognized as martyr for saving lives of 3 people

State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Sunday sent his condolences to the family of student Nguyen Van Nha, who was drowned while saving the lives of 3 female students at Phu Vang beach, Thua Thien Hue province, on Friday. Nha, born in 1998 and lived in Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province, was the 4th year student, majoring in Information Technology, College of Science at the Hue University.

On Friday afternoon, while bathing at a beach in Phu Vang district, Nha discovered that 3 girls in his group were swept away from the shore, so he swam there to rescue them. However, after rescuing them, exhausted Nha was swept away by the sea waves.

President Nguyen Xuan Phuc urged functional agencies to award Nha the Order of Courage and recognize him as martyr in accordance with regulations.
