Prime Minister asks for immediate implementation of tasks for 2022

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Friday chaired a government regular meeting on socio-economic development in January and tasks for February and the following months.

PM Chinh said January saw many important political, social, and economic events. The government and Prime Minister issued a Resolution to define this year’s theme “Solidarity, discipline, proactive adaptation, safety, efficiency, recovery, and development.”

“We concentrate on pandemic prevention and control to ensure that people enjoy Tet in a safe, healthy, joyful, exciting, and economical manner. Social welfare will guarantee that no one is left behind and all people have a joyful and safe Tet celebration. Social security and order should be strengthened. All tasks should be carried out on the first days of the lunar New Year,” he said.

The Prime Minister asked for reviewing and resolving obstacles in production, trade, and investment to ensure supply of materials and uninterrupted supply chains. He called for efforts to enhance trade and market promotion and effectively resolve export problems; particularly the export of agricultural products to China.

He assigned the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to devise a plan to welcome foreign tourists and enhance communication on Vietnam’s safe tourism. The Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health were urged to issue regulations and criteria for schools to reopen with safe pandemic prevention. Localities were asked to strictly manage people’s travel during Tet.
