Prime Minister: Teachers are carrying out honorable, proud mission

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Sunday sent his sincere and deepest thanks to generations of teachers across Vietnam for their efforts and achievements, saying  all people working for the education and training sector are carrying out a very honorable and proud mission. Prime Minister Chinh met in Hanoi on Sunday with delegates representing more than 1.5 million of teachers and education managers all over the country, on the occasion of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day on November 20. He said the Party and State always consider education the top national policy. The State has spent a lot of resources and prioritized investment in education development and focused policies on comprehensive reform of education and the development of teachers, especially teachers in remote, border and island areas.

Although facing many difficulties, the education and training sector has made a great contribution to fostering personality and morality of the young generation, raising people’s intellectual standards, and training human resources, contributing to national socio-economic development, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

“I call on all levels, branches, people, families, and parents to join hands with the education and training sector and with teachers for the cause of human growth. The education of people is not the sole job of the education and training sector or of teachers. Each of us should always be a student to learn continuously and also always be a teacher to enthusiastically participate in this noble and glorious work.”

Prime Minister Chinh extent his best wishes to teachers and educational administrators across the country and foreign teachers who are teaching in Vietnam “For the sake of 10 years of planting trees – For the benefit of a hundred years of cultivating people,” as taught by President Ho Chi Minh.
