Protection mission for DPRK-USA Summit reviewed

PANO � The General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army held a conference on March 4 to review its mission of protecting the second DPRK-USA Summit in Vietnam.

Following the instructions of the Politburo and the Prime Minister on enhancing the protection of the second DPRK-USA Summit, the Ministry of National Defense and the General Staff directed relevant military units to maintain high combat readiness and mobilized forces and vehicles to implement the assignments and ensure safety at key positions.

Additionally, the military well collaborated with the police and local authorities to provide timely advice to higher levels and to be prepared for any circumstances, contributing to ensuring security and safety for the event.

During the event, relevant military units not only well managed the airspace, waters and border areas of the country, but also prevented plots and acts of sabotage from hostile forces on cyberspace.

Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Phuong Nam, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, hailed the efforts of the participating units and the high sense of responsibility of participating troops.

General Nam also pointed out several shortcomings of units while in action and required participants to draw lessons to better perform their tasks in the time to come.
