Remains of missing-in-action US serviceman handed over to US

The Vietnamese Office for Seeking Missing Persons organized a ceremony in Da Nang on Thursday to hand over two sets of remains of American servicemen missing in action during the war in Vietnam.

Representatives of the US Embassy in Hanoi and the MIA Office attended the ceremony. The two sets of remains are the result of the joint search between the two countries and have been forensically examined by American and Vietnamese experts. Both sets of remains will be transferred to Hawaii for further examination.

The search for remains of US servicemen missing in action during the war in Vietnam is a humanitarian activity between the two countries. This is the 158th hand over of remains since 1973.
