General Jareonchai Hinthao, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, presided over the royal cremation ceremony of Sergeant Major Thanasak Buakhao, assigned to the 1st Special Forces Battalion, 4th Special Forces Regiment, who died while on duty from a clash with insurgents in Khok Pho District, Pattani Province on July 27, 2024 at Wat Dan Kata, Phra Phut Subdistrict, Chaloem Phra Kiat District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The Army Commander presented the Tricolor Flag, certificates of honor, and Bang Rachan Medals to the families and heirs to honor the family and demonstrate bravery in performing their duties to maintain peace in the southern border provinces. He also presented compensation money to protect the Ministry of Defense and the Army from war dangers, morale-boosting money to the Army, funeral assista nce money for the Army, and royal assistance money to the families and heirs. The army has rewarded his performance of duties in accordance with the Ministry of Defense regulations by requesting a special promotion of seven ranks from Sergeant Major to Major General.
