Although Russia is launching a special military operation in Ukraine, it will commemorate the 77th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War in 28 cities. The final rehearsal took place at the Red Square on Saturday for this year's Victory Day military parade. A secretary for the President said that no foreign leaders were invited to attend the parade as it was "not a jubilee year". Celebrations will be held across the country with a major march across the Red Square in Moscow.
Around 11,000 people, 131 types of weapons and military equipment as well as 77 airplanes and helicopters took part in the dress rehearsal, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. For the first time 8 MiG-29SMT fighter jets wil fly over the Red Square in the Z shape.
