Russia considers trade with Iran using national currencies

Russia may discuss with Iran the option of using their own currencies to trade despite the US sanctions against Tehran, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said Sunday.

Mr. Novak said Russia opposes the US's unilateral sanctions without the UN Security Council's consent, and will seek other cooperation mechanisms with Iran.

The same day, Kremlim spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Russia is gradually expanding relations with Asia-Pacific countries and avoiding sudden diplomatic moves.
