Russia disappointed with Trump’s foreign policy

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Monday that he believes US President Donald Trump is pursuing a tougher foreign policy than his predecessor Barack Obama.

Ryabkov regretted that US-Russia relations have not passed strength tests in terms of resistance to attacks over the past few months. He said Moscow hopes that Russia and the US can avoid confrontation, although the latest US sanctions will have long-term consequences. He said that in response to the sanctions, Russia will work to find import substitutions and reduce its dependence on the dollar as a payment currency.
