Substantive dialogue on strategic stability between Moscow and Washington can take place if the US respects Russia’s security interests, Director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Arms Control Department Boris Yermakov said Wednesday In an interview with Sputnik, Yermakov said Russia has never refused to dialogue, but real negotiation can only happen if both partners are willing.

The US must be prepared for a serious dialogue based on the principles of equality and respect for Russia’s interests, and care not to cross any “red lines” of security.
