Russia, Turkey to work closer after deadly Syria airstrike

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday that Russia and Turkey have agreed to improve coordination in Syria to prevent further fire incidents after a Russian airstrike killed 3 Turkish soldiers on Thursday.

Peskov said the Russian air force carried out the bombing based on the coordinates provided by the Turkish army, adding that it was an unintended airstrike.

Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus said the incident was the result of faulty coordination in Syria, and there is a need for a much closer coordination between Russia and Turkey.
