Russia, US have ‘common interests’ on climate change

(VOVWORLD) – Russian President Vladimir Putin told visiting US climate envoy John Kerry that Moscow and Washington have a shared interest in battling climate change, the Kremlin said Wednesday.

President Putin said Russia “attaches great importance” to achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement and “advocates de-politicising” the dialogue on climate change. The two officials discussed preparations for the 26th session of the UN climate change conference that will begin on October 31 in Glasgow. They also discussed possible cooperation in environmental protection at the North Pole.
